The City of Kitchener Economic Development Department in partnership with the Downtown Kitchener BIA would like to inform you about some of the exciting events that are planned for this year! Each year these events attract thousands of people to our community and contribute to the livelihood and business in the Downtown core. 2017 Holiday Village on King Street - Christkindl Market
The Downtown Kitchener BIA in partnership with the Christkindl Market continue to explore and expand opportunities through increased outdoor activities along King Street. These plans include the use of huts built by the Downtown Kitchener BIA in the expanded Holiday Village on King. Celebrate a festival of German Christmas and apply to participate today!
Vendors will go through an approval process, and must offer an appropriate variety of holiday items for attendees to purchase while visiting the festival. Can you eat, shop and play local for one week?
LiveLocalKW is a Waterloo Region initiative which challenges participants to eat, play and buy from local businesses for one week.In its third year, LiveLocalKW is scheduled to run from September 17-23, 2017. The challenge supports the small businesses that have made Kitchener-Waterloo home to great food, drinks and products.
LiveLocalKW is also an opportunity for visitors and residents to discover new locally owned businesses and revisit familiar ones in their hometown.Companies include: Legacy Greens, Golden Mean Wellness Shoppe, Apollo, Breadbaron Sandwiches and more.
